Telephone counselling
Accessible. Experienced. Non-judgemental.
You may feel apprehensive about working over the telephone, as many of my previous clients have shared. I am very mindful of this and we work at your pace, finding your safe space. I have experience counselling using the telephone, across four different placements and in private practice. This way of working has provided a flexible and accessible way of working throughout the pandemic. Telephone counselling now feels like a safe and effective ongoing way of working for many clients. I have done additional training on telephone counselling and feel very comfortable working on the telephone. It saves time travelling to a counselling room and transport costs. I am currently working with two blind and partially sighted charities providing telephone counselling. I have also worked for a GP practice, providing patients with a telephone counselling service. I work for a Women's only charity working with clients over the telephone and this has felt very helpful for them. Clients have commented that they feel heard and that they can be themselves without judgement with telephone counselling.
